Landmark Architectural Wonders of Dubai
Burj Khalifa
It is designed to be the centrepiece of large-scale, mixed-use development. The decision to construct the building is reportedly based on the government’s decision to diversify from an oil-based economy, and for Dubai to gain international recognition.
The Palm Jumeirah
Palm Islands are three artificial islands, Palm Jumeirah, Deira Island and Palm Jebel Ali, on the coast of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Creation of the islands started in 2001. As of November 2011, only Palm Jumeirah has been
completed.
Artificial Canal City
Dubai Marina is an artificial canal city,
built along a two-mile (3 km) stretch of
Persian Gulf shoreline. When the entire development is complete, it will accommodate more than 120,000
people in residential towers and
villas.
Future Projects
Falcon City
A unique project both in terms of its components and magnitude, occupying over 40,000,000 square feet, FCW hosts the seven wonders of the world, commercial centers, a signature theme park, family centers, sports facilities, educational institutes.
Dubai Pearl
A total of 3.5 million man hours have so far been spent since work started
on site and over 60,000 cubic
meter of concrete has been poured on one of the largest construction
projects still being developed in the
UAE.
Snow Dome
Snowdome, previously referred
to as Dubai Sunny Mountain
Skidome, will be a gigantic
indoor ski dome project, that will be part of the Attraction and Experience
World of the mega Tourism project, Dubailand.
Underwater Hotel
Dutch designer once planned for outer space, but this closer to home Hydropolis never got off the ground in Dubai. The effect is to create more tranquil living environs where architectural flow blends our natural biorythms with our living spaces.
The World Dubai
Located in the waters of the Persian Gulf, Dubai, over a span of 10 years has worked to create an archipelago, a rough map of the globe called “The World Islands” atop of sand drefged waters. It offers the ultimate in privacy and exclusivity.
